Not too long ago, I lost complete sight of my physical and mental health. I was shot to pieces.

Me of all people.

A wellness mentor of twenty five years.

In 2018, after an amazing twenty five year career in wellness, I lost everything trying to expand my business too quickly.

What’s more I nearly lost myself.

No one is bulletproof to poor health choices

The most important thing you can now is stop.

Before it’s too late.

Often the very idea of changing for the better can become so daunting and overwhelming that nothing gets done. Time slips by and you normalise the negative condition you’re in.

We all need a bit of guidance, an inspired conversation or an arm around the shoulder.

I remember a friend of 20 years sitting silently opposite me over coffee.

He listened carefully as I explained the long story of my physical and mental breakdown.

Finally, he repeated a powerful piece of advice that was strangely familiar . . .

“You know what to do Steve. Forget the big picture. Take it one day at a time. One positive action everyday and it will all be okay.”

He was using the same advice I had given him years ago when his own businesses had collapsed after years of intense work.

And he was right. Step by step, everything changed.

It’s worth noting that this year ( February ) I placed 5th in the final of the men’s indoor 60m British Masters age group final. Notably, I didn’t train for it, had zero technical sessions and had never used starting blocks before. I just figured I’d do ok and I did. I put it down to discipline, attitude and being chemical free. I’ll win it next year for sure.
