3 Easy Ways to Improve Your Mental Health.
Rightly so, the subject of improving mental health is an important one. However it never ceases to amaze me how quickly people reach for a jar of tablets and a synthetic remedy before attempting to resolve the problem naturally, calmly and patiently.
Let’s face it, rather like weight loss, it may have taken a few years of poor choices in the fast lane to get to the point where you recognise the need for help. I’d confidently predict that sleeping well, eating clean, hydrating properly, meditating and exercising will cure most mental health problems.
Any kind of change requires you to break into your powerful daily routine, which is often easier said than done. Like it or not, you are a creature of habit, which when viewed positively, is a good thing as we just need to swap bad habits for good. So here goes, in no particular order, three simple changes to make you happier, more positive and feeling fantastic.
Get some sleep, some proper deep restorative sleep.
14% of the U.K. population have a chronic sleep problem and a staggering 70% have a ‘real’ problem getting to sleep. In the U.S. the figures are equally if not more bleak, with 70m people admitting a sleep problem. Remember, practice makes perfect and patience is a virtue. Without a doubt, deep sleep is the MOST important part of our life.
Turn off all technology at least two hours before bed. Including the T.V.
Turn off all wi-fi and smart devices at the wall.
Have a hot bath with organic lavender essential oils, turn off all LED lights and light a beeswax candle.
Stretch all major muscles to release physical and mental tension.
Lie on top of your bed and systematically tense and relax every muscle group, including the muscles of the face. Holding each bout of tension for five seconds. Releasing on a slow out breath. Repeat five times.
Have last fluids of the day two hours before sleep.
Read an inspirational book before turning off the light.
2. Get moving in nature. Preferably bare foot.
The act of grounding your personal electromagnetic field has multiple benefits which include the, reduction of inflammation, pain, and stress. It improves blood flow, energy, and sleep, and generates greater sense of well-being. Cognitively, a twenty minute walk in nature improves mood, increases metabolism and oxygen flow to the brain. Why would you not?
3. Drink three litres of pure filtered water.
You are water. All of you without exception are made of water. Positive hydration is without doubt the second biggest health issue after getting some good sleep. Your brain is 87% water as is your heart. Think about that for a moment, 87%. I have over the years tried many ways of sourcing the best hydration process and thankfully ( and I’m not on commission !) I discovered ZERO WATER filters. Which until I install a system for my whole living space is the best way of guaranteeing non polluted water into my body.
Regardless of what water authorities tell you, do not trust your tap water. Give Flint Water Scandal a Google. Your water is full of too much chlorine, metal and PFAS.
According to a new study by the U.S. Geological Survey. At least 45% of the U.S.A.’s tap water is estimated to have one or more types of the chemicals known as per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances, or PFAS. according to a new study by the U.S. Geological Survey. There are more than 12,000 types of PFAS, not all of which can be detected with current tests.
NEVER compromise of the water you consume. AVOID mineral water in plastic bottles, use glass bottled water when you can. Plastic bottles leach nasties into the water, in fact most plastic products release estrogenic chemicals. Numerous studies have shown that it acts as an endocrine-disruptor in animals, including early onset of sexual maturation, altered development and tissue organization of the mammary gland and decreased sperm production in offspring. It may be most harmful in the stages of early development.
