We have given this a lot of thought and for over fifteen years now have used the magnificent facilities of Champney’s in Tring. It is the perfect location for our wellness retreat near London. A mere 45 minutes north of London in the beautiful and tranquil Hertfordshire village of Wiggington, it is a real oasis of calm and beauty.

We have worked with senior executives from companies such as Salesforce, Adidas, Novartis and Clifford Chance. Encouraging all of them to put down their phones, close their laptops and allow our unique and effective process to completely rejuvenate them.
We attempt to de-stress, nourish, motivate and educate you on retreat. Not in a pushy over formal way but in a subtle attentive way. You are all different and all coming from a start point. This is why we only take small groups of people, never more than six to allow Stephen Johansson and his team to build confidence, trust and an understanding of who you are.
Typical Day
We like to make you do some kind of activity before every meal time, depending on who you are will determine what you do. Remember, you work at your own pace, your level is your level and you’ll be surprised at exactly what you can achieve in such a short time.
08.00 - Early morning walk for 30-40 minutes taking in the stunning countryside in and around the main house and grounds.
09.00 – Breakfast is served in the main restaurant, buffet style and packed with the highest quality nutritionally sound food. We encourage correct eating and will help you make good choices to enhance your performance and needs.
10.00 – Mindfulness time. You’ll sit on the stunning terrace and paint, sketch what you see. Don’t worry, there wont be an exhibition, it’s time for your inner creativity to express itself.
11.30 – Yoga – Beginners. Even if you are a professional at yoga, going through the basics in this beginner’s class with enhance your practice, as you know, yoga is 10% knowledge and 90% practice.
13.00 Lunch – Served in the main restaurant, again it is buffet style and again we will encourage you to think about portion size and content.
14.00 -16.00 – Down time. Afternoon naps, siestas on the terrace, read a book (not work related) or an informal chat about your health with Stephen. It’s a a time to unplug.
17.00 – Gym time- This will we a 1-2-2 or 1-2-3 circuit session in the main gym. A mixture of cardio and resistance work. Aimed at your level, it will push you a little and make you sweat. Ending with a thorough stretch it’s a great way to end the day.
18.00- Massage time – What better way to end your day with a 45 minute deep tissue massage.
19.30 – Dinner is served in the main restaurant or if you prefer in your room. As ever will guide you through the menu.

Our typical retreats at Champney’s are three to four nights long. So if you are looking for a long weekend of wellness then this is for you. From our long experience, the long weekend is plenty of time to be totally inspired into making better choices. Stephen will support you after your retreat for a whole month to make sure you are on the right track.
Can I come alone is an often-asked question.
Yes is always the answer, with such a small group you will immediately make friends with like-minded people and our team of attentive staff will make sure you feel totally at home.
Can I organise my own group?
We really encourage this! Our retreat is perfect for friends getting together, healthy hen parties and groups of co-workers.
How often do you run the retreats?
The beauty of our wellness retreat near London is that YOU call the shots on when you want to attend. Whether you are on your own or with a group, we will fit into your schedule.
Will I be able to lose weight on the retreat?
Probably ’yes’ is the honest answer, but long term definitely 100%! We will show you how to eat, move, think and believe your way to losing those extra lbs.
